Norton Summit / Ashton CFS Brigade belongs to the East Torrens CFS Group. Other East Torrens CFS Group Brigades are: Athelstone, Basket Range, Carey Gully, Cherryville, Greenhill, Montacute, Piccadilly and Summertown, as well as Cleland and Lofty DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources (formerly Department of Environment and Heritage).

Our Brigade is classifide by CFS as an Urban/Rural Brigade, that operates 3 appliances. Norton Summit QRV, Norton Summit 34P and Norton Summit Bulk Water Carrier

Some of the major risks within our Response Area include the Ashton Cold Stores and Merchandise Stores & several Bed and Breakfast establishments and Hostels, The Scenic Hotel, East Torrens Kindergarten, Norton Summit Primary School and YWAM (Youth with a Mission) where up to 200 people may stay in residence at one time. Our Brigade cover the areas of Norton Summit, Ashton, Teringie, Auldana, Skye, Marble Hill and Woodforde.

Urrbrae Agricultural High School SRC this year held a fund raiser BBQ in term 3 for its students with all money raised going to a charity of choice.

This year the school decided to donate the money raised to the South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS), With Norton Summit / Ashton brigade chosen to receive the $250

The official hand over was held on Friday 9th December at the school Graduation Assembly at Urrbrae Agricultural High School With brigade Member and student of Urrbrae, Jason Kirchner, doing the official hand over of the donation to the brigade's captain John Naumann
