RECRUITMENT INFORMATION

As the Country Fire Service is a volunteer based Emergency Service, we are always looking for more members who are willing to volunteer their time in one of the many roles available through the CFS.

The Roles Include:

Fire Fighter

Radio Operation

Administration Support

Operational Support

Catering

Community Education

Fundraising

Cadet

You will work along side other volunteers in times of emergency and will learn new and valuable skills that will assist you in your day-to-day lives and your workplace. Most of all you will get to help make your local community a safer place to live and work.

All of our members will tell you that the personal benefits they get from being a volunteer with the CFS more then compensate for the time they invest.

What are the Costs Invloved?

The only cost which is involved is your Time and Dedication.

Being a volunteer based Emergency Service, all your Protective Clothing and Equipment is supplied. The comprehensive training is also cost free.

Our brigade trains on a weekly basis and all volunteers are expected to attend these training sessions. When you enquire about joining the Brigade, we can discuss just how much time you are expected to commit to your training.

How Do I Become a Volunteer?

There are a couple of ways you can express your interest in joining your local CFS Brigade:

Email us and we can forward the details to you.

Come along to a Training Night. We train weekly on a Monday Night from 1930 to approximately 2230.

or call the Recruitment Hotline on 1300 364 587

Membership depends on several factors, including a Police Check and proximaty to the station. Contact us for further details.
